6′ minimum chain link fence. But **** check with your city’s zoning permits **** City I live in, I didn’t need a permit for a fence but they had RULES that I had to abide (or tear it down & do over) so the city gave me ‘permission’ to put a fence on my property. My area, I was not allowed to have more than 4′ high chain link fence in the front of my house and after 20′ from the front, then on the remaining side of house, the fence could be 6′ (oh yeah, 2 different heights on the same side of a house).

I would suggest a 6 ft. cyclone fence unless you are concerned about privacy. Of the three large dogs, I imagine at least one might be a "jumper", so 6 ft. is recommend. You can get it coated in green and/or plant flowers & bushes on the outside of it for attractiveness. With the cyclone, you can also be sure the dogs won’t dig underneath the fence because you can put the bottom of the fencing right to the earth. With wood, you cannot.

They also sell vinyl "slats" in different colors for cyclone fences – this will give you privacy if you need it.
