How can I Make my Dog Stop Jumping the Fence?

The fence is about 5 feet. He’s a mixed breed and hes a large dog thats less than a year old. We’ve put chicken wire around the edges of the fence so its about a foot taller but my dog can still jump over it!! We’ve tried curving it inward but he was still able to jump and then we tried standing the wire up with wooden posts and that worked even worse.. I have a big backyard and theres three other dogs with him in the yard but they dont jump and he has toys so he shouldn’t be bored! He’s stays indoors for a big part of the day and the dogs are alone for maybe 3 or 4 hours a day. I’ve also tried walking him around the neighborhood when i get home but that hasn’t made a difference! We’ve run out of ideas and we really don’t want him to get hit by a car or taken to the animal shelter!! Please help!
Unfortunately, My mom refuses to buy an electric fence because she says we can’t afford it..

Theres really nothing you can do. I would try kepping a close eye out so it won’t happen

Its almost impossible to keep a free spirit inside a fence if he doesnt want to stay there. My advice would be to buy a 10 by 10 six foot high kennel and fence over the top of it with additional chain link fencing. Keep him in that when you are not in the back yard watching him. As long as he doesn’t dig, he should stay in this.

we don’t have a fence, so we have our dog on a long chain, thats tied to the tree in the middle of the yard. try training 1st though. you can get different lengths of chains. go to petsmart or petco to get one
