Electric strip for sofa or countertops to keep dogs off?

.

Does anyone know of a company that carries electric shock strip that you can place on a sofa or countertop. The idea is the same as the invisible electric shock fence for dogs. Summer is approaching and try as I might it is impossible to keep my dogs off my beautiful outdoor sofa. In fact I have to replace the cushions this year because they will not stay off. I thought if I could make it unpleasant with the electric strip they would finally get the message. I don’t need training tips as this is really the only issue my dogs have and otherwise are trained. They just love this sofa and have claimed it for their own.
Sorry I asked. I should have known better. There was only one person willing to answer the question that I asked. Thanks for your help. It is called a scat mat and I ordered two from petsmart.

Roll out bubble wrap on the couch before you leave.
Had that problem with my dog too, she would leave wet spots on the couch from cleaning herself and lots of hair, and loved jumping on the couch with muddy paws to bark out the window.

Instead of Electric Strips, cover your sofa with cooking foil, tin foil of whatever you call it in your neck of the woods. Its the stuff that you wrap around chickens, turkeys etc., before you put them in the oven. Just leave the tin foil on your sofa, your dogs will hate this and get the message.

Just put something on top of the cushions, like boxes or newspaper when u are away, or flip up the cushions
Why not love the dogs more than a sofa and cover it with a blanket and let then get on it.

Never heard of Electric strips to keep dogs off things. I am not sure your going to find something like that.

I have heard of motion sensors to make noise to deter them. I have seen pads sold at Petco. that looks like the back of a car mat. to keep dogs off..

Your issue is a training issue , you need to claim your sofa back. You allow it to happen.

Yikes! I can’t imagine that there is such a product. At least, I hope not. That’s great that the dogs are generally well trained, but if this is one particular thing that you want them to not do, then why not just train them a bit more? Just a little extra training would go a long way. No need to shock them. The least you could do is put a plastic cover over it while its not in use. You won’t have messy cushions and they won’t be shocked. Its a win-win situation.

I would let them have it. Buy another one and cover it with a good plastic cover. So when you want to use your sofa, you can and they still have theirs.

    Compromise.

EDIT: I know all about scat mats. I did not suggest them because they do not work. I used them on my couch. My cats and dogs figured out how to get around it……..they pushed it off the couch. Waste of money.

Why don’t you try obedience, manners, and crate training.

If there is undesired behaviour, then the dogs are not trained.

I don’t know the brand but look up a Skat (or scat) mat.
